Hominy Valley Youth Wrestling League

Founded in 2006, the Hominy Valley Youth Wrestling League has grown into popular winter activity in the Enka school district.  Practices are run by the Enka High School wrestling staff, parent volunteers, and Enka High School wrestlers.  For further information about our youth wrestling league, click here to view the 2015 HVWC brochure.   

Enka Middle School won Saturday's N.C. USA Wrestling 

February 2016: Wrestling under the name Hominy Valley Wrestling, a collection of seventh and eighth graders won Saturday's N.C. USA Wrestling Elementary and Junior High State Championships tournament for the first time.
Hominy Valley scored 183 points, with Haywood Elite Wrestling Club (140) coming in second, followed by McDowell Titan Takedown (125)   in third.
Enka had five weight-class winners: Eli Vassey (8th grade 154#), Griffin Garmany (7th grade 115#), Carson Turner (7th grade 134#), Jordan Bryson (8th grade 222#), Cameron Jones (7th grade heavyweight).  There were a number of other wrestlers who contributed points to the winning cause. 

1st and 2nd grade: 80-87# 1st place: Landon Pope; 3rd and 4th grade: 80# 3rd place: Jason McClellan

2016 Enka wrestling camp will run Monday through Friday and will include 1/2 day (9:00-12) and full day (9:00-4) options.
