I attended the University of Georgia where I studied Family and Consumer Science Education. After graduating in 2009, I started my teaching career at Madison County Middle School where I also sponsored FCCLA and coached cheerleading.

Fast forward a couple years, I accepted an au pair position in Munich, Germany. After making the move across the pond, I played 'mommy' to a little boy called Bennet for a year before taking a position at a bilingual preschool.

When my husband and I decided to move back to the States, we were quite intentional in choosing Asheville. With our combined love of the mountains, art, and food, we knew that this was the place we wanted to be. So we left our beloved Germany and started building our life here in Blue Ridge mountains.

Upon moving to Asheville, I took a job with FEAST, a local non-profit that believes that kids should have the opportunity to eat healthy food every day. We have garden programs at several elementary schools in Asheville, and we partner with IRL and the YMCA to provide kitchen literacy classes at local middle schools in their after school programs.

I started teaching at Enka High in the fall of 2014. I teach Child Development classes as well as Foods I. I am also one of the FCCLA sponsors. I've loved getting to know my students, fellow teachers, and the community.

In my spare time I love to cook, travel, hike, and spend loads of time with our pup, Dooley.
