Course Overview

A student must pass each of the following courses in order to receive a diploma in the Occupational Course of Study:


  • Occupational English I, II, III, & IV
  • Occupational Math I, II, & III
  • Occupational Life Skills Science I & II
  • Occupational Social Studies I & II
  • Occupational Prep I (Book work), Career Training I (Factory), Occupational Prep II A (Factory), Occupational Prep IIB (Book Work), Occupational III B (Book work), Occupational III (Internship), Career Training III (Internship), Occupational Prep IV (Paid Em.), Career Training IV (Paid Em), and Career Training IV (Paid Em).
  • (1)Health/PE


  • Four Career/Technical Education (CTE) courses (Examples include: Computer Applications, Auto-mechanics, Career Management, Foods)
  • Two to Six Electives (depending on scheduling needs and what is needed for graduation)  (Any CTE class as well as Art, Drama, P.E, Band, etc)


In addition to the required coursework, a student must also complete the following requirements:


  • Complete 300 unpaid School-Based work hours (Completed in Career Training I and Occupational Prep II A)


  • Complete 240 unpaid Community-Based work hours (Completed in Career Training III and Occupational Prep III A)


  • Complete 360 paid Competitive work hours (Completed in Career Training IV (2 credits) and Occupational Prep IV)
Complete Portfolio Reviews in 10th and 12th grades.
