Welcome to Enka Air Force JROTC!

2019 marks the 50th year I have worn the United States Air Force uniform! 

I started in AFJROTC in 10th grade at Independence High School in Charlotte, NC, and have worn this uniform virtually everyday since.  I joined the Air Force after graduation and served in active duty, reserve and National Guard positions until I retired in 2004.
Along the way I gained;
1)  Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Education,
                                 from Southern Illinois University
2)  Associate(s) degrees (4) occupational specialities; Electronics, 
          Aviation Maintenance, Flight Enginnering and Workplace & Aviation  Safety.
                                 from the Community College of the Air Force
3)  Certification ;
         Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic,
         Flight Engineer,
         Flight Intstuctor,
         Commercial Lighter-than-air pilot
                                from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 
3)  Promoted to the highest possible enlisted rank in the USAF
4)  Teachers Certification (North Carolina)

I live on a small farm with my 10 year old son.

My tasking from from Air University Headquarters is to "Develop citizens of Character" utilizing the Air Force "Core Values" of Intergrity, Service before self, and Excellence in ALL we do.  A tasking I have met over the past 13 years here at Enka High School. 

I currently bear the title and fill the role of "Senior Aerospace Science Instructor-Enka High School, NC-041"

I team-teach with Senior Master Sergeant Antony Kelly. 

This is my last teaching semester, I plan to retire 1 July 2019.
