Special Education Teacher

About Me
I was born and raised in Western North Carolina. I grew up in Madison County and moved to Candler when I was a teenager. Both of my parents are social workers and I attended Asheville City Schools, graduating from Asheville High School.

Education and Experience
This year (2018-2019) marks my 3rd Year Teaching and my 2nd Year Teaching at Enka High School.This is my 5th year in education. I was previously a Special Education Teacher Assistant in Enka High's Occupational Course of Study Program for 2.5 years before earning my lateral entry teaching license in Special Education General Curriculum from UNCA.  I taught in Henderson County for one year before returning back home to Enka in 2017-2018. I also have a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University. 

This year I am co-teaching inclusion English Classes. For Fall 2018 I am co-teaching English I with Mrs. Drury, English III with Mr. McGill , and English I with Mrs. Morgan. For Spring 2019 I am teaching English IV with Mr. Pegram, English III, with Mr. McGill, and English II with Ms. Hooper. My planning for both semesters is 1st period from 8:00am- 9:25am.
