Welcome! My name is Catherine Kendrick and I teach English II and Advanced Placement English IV this year. I am originally from the Candler area and I graduated from Enka in 2007. I am the second generation of Enka graduates in my family! I am very happy to be back in the community after attending Appalachian State University (earning a degree in English/Secondary Education).
Being able to contribute to this community has been a true reward for the past eight years. It has been a wonderful learning experience to work with students in order to focus on success, organization, and growth. Enka was a great part of my formative years, and I consider myself lucky to be invested in this school and its success. It is a privilege to be here and to serve your students.
When I am away from school I spend my time with my family, friends, and dog (Kuechly). I continue to reside in the Candler community, and I cherish the culture of pride and community that Candler offers. It is truly unique to our corner of the world. I love to work out and volunteer. Right now, I am volunteering with Hands-On Asheville through United Way and preparing for 5Ks.
