Black Mountain Primary (BMP) was filled with joy, color and countless smiles as Mercy Chef’s returned to campus to wrap the school in some much-needed holiday magic. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the organization has been a steady source of comfort and care for the BMP community, and their latest visit was nothing short of heartwarming.

As students stepped into the little theater, their eyes widened at the sight before them: rows of soft, colorful Squishmallows waiting to be hugged, brand new toys ready for new adventures, and backpacks filled with food to help families through the holiday season.

For many students, this surprise created a moment of joy they will remember long after the holidays have passed.

Mercy Chefs also poured love into the adults who pour so much of their own into BMP each day. Staff were treated to a delicious, freshly prepared lunch, a gesture that brought warmth and gratitude to a team who has worked tirelessly during a challenging season. Classrooms received cookies to share, and every staff member was given a holiday gift as a token of appreciation.
