SGA members pose with shirts and jackets

Enka High School (EHS) shows its generosity and school pride each year when students help each other.

🎄🎁 Elves for Enka brings the whole community together. School social worker Lisa Von Dohlen and the rest of the EHS Student Services Department identify students who could use some extra cheer around the holidays. EHS students raise money in their second period classes and have a friendly competition to see which class can raise the most. The EHS Student Government Association (SGA) and Student Services collect the money, shop for goodies, and ready gift bags for a distribution party. Students invited to the party also get to pick out a gift for someone in their family.

“This is one of the most valuable things that happens outside of learning here,” said SGA Executive President Lucas Parker. “We see people every day, but we don’t always know what’s happening in their lives. I want to help everyone get what they need.”

The Biltmore Lake Community supports Elves for Enka through their Giving Garland project. Additional support comes from the Children’s Welfare League and lots of individual donors.
