Six graduating seniors in the Teacher Cadet program at North Buncombe High School are turning their passion for education into a future career after recently signing their letters of intent to pursue degrees in education at colleges across North Carolina. 

The students will continue their academic journeys at universities including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Appalachian State University, and Western Carolina University.

The signing celebration recognized the students’ commitment to becoming the next generation of educators and highlighted the impact of the school’s Teacher Cadet Program. 

The Teacher Cadet program gives high school students interested in education the opportunity to explore the teaching profession firsthand. Through classroom experiences, leadership opportunities and hands-on learning, students gain valuable insight into what it takes to become a successful educator.

Teachers and families gathered to celebrate the seniors as they officially committed to continuing their education and pursuing careers dedicated to inspiring future generations. 

The program not only helps students build confidence and leadership skills, but also encourages them to make a lasting difference in their communities through education.
