Lois Petersen has a background in school counseling at all grade levels and also in child and family mental health.  She is committed to developing the whole student and works with students and families to help each student achieve his/her potential.  

Mrs. Petersen is a graduate of National University in La Jolla, California and received her Master's in School Counseling from Western Carolina University in 2002.  She has been a North Carolina Licensed School Counselor since 2003, a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor since 2006 and achieved her National Board Certification in 2010.  

Mrs. Petersen is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys gardening, hiking, camping and natural horsemanship. She also has experience with equine-assisted psychotherapy.

Barbara (Babs) Burlingame has been a school counselor since 2012.  After graduating from Northwestern College where she received a B.A. in Music Education, Ms. Burlingame moved to Chicago and taught high school band for 12 years. 

While in Chicago, she received her M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.  She then realized her passion for helping students went beyond the classroom and went back to school for her M.A. in School Counseling from Concordia University. Prior to joining the Enka High counseling department, Ms. Burlingame was a School Counselor at Madison High School in Marshall, NC for 3 years.

Annalee Olliffe (pronounced ah-liff) is originally from Rome, Georgia. She received her B.S in Psychology from Kennesaw State University in 2017. After graduating, Mrs. Olliffe worked in community mental health and special education in and around Atlanta until moving to North Carolina in 2020. Mrs. Olliffe recently graduated with her M.A.Ed from Western Carolina University and is now a licensed School Counselor.

Mrs. Olliffe loves connecting with students and supporting them as they work towards their goals. When she's not in the builidng, she enjoys spending time outside hiking, kayaking, camping, and seeing live music with her husband.

Katherine Becker is a native of Winston-Salem, NC, and an alumna of NC State University (go Pack), Wake Forest University, and Lenoir-Rhyne University.

She is licensed as a school counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate. When not at school, Ms. Becker enjoys hiking, cycling, reading, and traveling (especially to national parks and big cities).

She was formerly a 10th-grade English teacher and a court reporter, and she has strong opinions about North Carolina BBQ

Links students/families with resources in the community, connects students with alternative education opportunities, and provides short-term behavioral health interventions.

Lisa J. Von Dohlenhas been a school social worker since 1992 and has worked in Buncombe County Schools since 2008. She began working at Enka High School in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She holds a Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a post-master's certificate in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Her professional accomplishments include being named the National Association of Social Workers - Virginia Chapter "Social Worker of the Year" in 2006, the Buncombe County Schools "Social Worker of the Year" in 2013, and the "NC School Social Worker of the Year" in 2016.

Donna Hyatt is a 1982 graduate from Enka High. She married Kemmy Hyatt, who also graduated in 1982. Donna started working at EHS in November of 1987 as a teacher assistant. In 1988, she worked as the EHS receptionist until taking on the job of Student Services Secretary in 2010.

She and her husband have 3 daughters, Katie, Kirstie and Karley, who are all EHS graduates.

Outside of school, Mrs. Hyatt likes being with her family and friends, but her favorite thing to do includes spending time with her granddaughters.
