Throughout the 2022/2023 school year, Enka High School’s Air Force JROTC devoted hours of training and learning to improve the unit for the betterment of students. This hardwork led the program to earn awards from the Department of the Air Force Air University (AETC). The awards presented to Enka JROTC were Distinguished Unit Awards with Merit, Distinguished Unit Award, and the Outstanding Organization Award. These awards are presented to organizations that have shown personal growth and accomplishments of the cadets, contribution of the instructors as mentors, and support of the school and local community.
“Being selected as an outstanding instructor really goes hand-in-hand with having a well-run JROTC program where students can learn about the military and work to develop their personal leadership skills,” said JROTC instructor Major Kevin Den Boer. “The Distinguished Unit Award is presented to the top 10% of units nationwide. It truly is a great honor to receive these awards in the same year.”
Congratulations to Enka JROTC on their hard work and dedication.
